Participating in the HYTE Program has been an incredible experience. Learning about new concepts involving entrepreneurship and technology has ignited my passion for marketing. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy the learning aspect of the program, but getting to know my group and being able to work with them and create/build a product with the help and support of Yasmin was such a rewarding, memorable journey. All in all, the knowledge that I learned from the HYTE program was a vital part of my dive into the marketing world.

I was one of the lucky people who got the opportunity to be part of the HYTE program. I first heard about it in my chemistry class when Yasmin came to give us a presentation. It instantly sparked my interest as I was approaching my last year of high school and it seemed like something new I could add and stand out in my university application. The first week was the Technology section of the program. This was the area I was least familiar with, and I became familiar with different strategies as well as terminology. Even if I don’t plan on entering the technological sector in the future, the stories of the first panel of people that came in each had their takeaways. I also learned that technology can be used everywhere and made connections that I couldn't have made anywhere else. The next three weeks were my favorite: the entrepreneurship side of the program. This is where I learned the most—everything from pain points to SWOT analysis—which I will carry on using in the future. The chance to learn about these at such an early age is not only an advantage but a chance not many have. As we began the project phase, it allowed us to take ‘risks’ and simulate what it would be like to pitch an idea. It gave us the practice not many had before pitching their first idea. In my group specifically, we divided the tasks and I was in charge of the presentation and was the project manager. I was also in charge of the team's hook, which was nerve-racking for me, but Yasmin helped me narrow down a speech and offered guidance. Additionally, not only did this program teach me about different industries and give me perspectives on different future pathways through people’s experiences, but I also got help for my university applications. Working with Yasmin individually to help perfect my university essays was a very big help and I think it made a huge difference in my application. Overall, this is a unique and extraordinary program that teaches you skills that can’t be acquired in school and broadens your insights on various work fields.

When I first joined HYTE I was sure about what pathway I was taking and quickly dismissed the STEM aspect of entrepreneurship. But through HYTE and the help of Yasmin, I broadened my perspective, which helped me grow my appreciation for STEM. This course allowed me to get hands-on, network, meet new people and guests, and grow love and compassion for a subject that I thought I’d never be interested in. Thank you so much Yasmin for opening new doors and truly expanding my horizon!

Dear Yasmin, thank you very much for your support throughout the HYTE process. I met new people in this course, learned new skills, and studied entrepreneurship. The experience of working in a group was unforgettable, and I learned a lot and had a terrific experience. I was astonished by other groups’ ideas and impressed by their speeches. I think our group and I still have lots of room for improvement, and I will keep learning new things and exploring different fields. Thank you again for leading us through the HYTE program. I wish you a great weekend and new year.
